Mervat Mohamed Mustafa Amin (Arabic: مير٠ت Ù…Øمد مصط٠ى
أمين‎; born November 24, 1948), is an Egyptian actress.She was
born in El Minya, Egypt. Her father is an Egyptian doctor from Upper
Egypt and her mother is Scottish. During the 1970s her mother was the
Head of the Elementary School of El Nasr School Heliopolis, Egypt
(formerly The English School, Cairo). Her father, Dr. Ahmad Amin, was
the physician of the same institution.Amin's first fame came when she
starred with Abdel Halim Hafez in his last film, My Father Atop a
Tree.From there she became one of the most successful Egyptian actors
in the 1970s and early 1980s during which she starred in many Egyptian
films.
